Why Did the Recall of Pro-China Legislators Fail in Taiwan?
tái wān 台湾 zuì jìn 最近 jǔ xíng 举行 le 了 bà miǎn 罢免 qīn zhōng 亲中 lì fǎ wěi yuán 立法委员 de 的 tóu piào 投票 ， dàn 但 suǒ yǒu 所有 bèi 被 bà miǎn 罢免 de 的 24 wèi 位 wěi yuán 委员 dōu 都 méi yǒu 没有 bèi 被 bà miǎn 罢免 chéng gōng 成功 。
Taiwan recently held a vote to recall pro-China legislators, but none of the 24 targeted legislators were successfully recalled.
hěn 很 duō 多 zhì yuàn zhě 志愿者 huā 花 le 了 jǐ gè 几个 yuè 月 shí jiān 时间 shōu jí 收集 qiān míng 签名 ， xī wàng 希望 néng 能 ràng 让 zhè xiē 这些 wěi yuán 委员 xià tái 下台 ， dàn 但 jié guǒ 结果 ràng 让 tā men 他们 hěn 很 shī wàng 失望 。
Many volunteers spent months collecting signatures, hoping to remove these legislators from office, but the results disappointed them.

Many people believe the recall failed because not enough supporters went out to vote.

Some also say that there were too many recall targets and that the effort should have focused only on the least popular legislators.

During the recall campaign, some politicians made harsh remarks, such as 'Those who disagree with the recall are not Taiwanese,' which upset some moderate voters and further divided society.

Some believe Taiwan should have more understanding and dialogue, rather than using hatred and fear in politics.

Although the recall was unsuccessful, many ordinary people have started to care about politics and participate in social activities.
