Why Young People in the Western Balkans Choose to Go Abroad
xiàn zài 现在 ， hěn 很 duō 多 xī bā ěr gàn 西巴尔干 dì qū 地区 de 的 nián qīng rén 年轻人 xuǎn zé 选择 qù guó wài 去国外 xué xí 学习 hé 和 gōng zuò 工作 。
Nowadays, many young people in the Western Balkans choose to study and work abroad.
tā men 他们 xī wàng 希望 yǒu 有 gèng 更 hǎo 好 de 的 shēng huó 生活 hé 和 gèng 更 duō 多 de 的 jī huì 机会 。
They hope for a better life and more opportunities.
bǐ rú 比如 ， yǒu 有 de 的 xué shēng 学生 qù 去 sī luò wén ní yà 斯洛文尼亚 huò 或 yīng guó 英国 xué xí 学习 gōng chéng 工程 huò 或 jì suàn jī 计算机 ， yīn wèi 因为 nà lǐ 那里 de 的 dà xué 大学 gèng 更 yǒu míng 有名 ， xué xí 学习 tiáo jiàn 条件 yě 也 gèng 更 hǎo 好 。
For example, some students go to Slovenia or the UK to study engineering or computer science because the universities there are more famous and the learning conditions are better.
yǒu xiē 有些 rén 人 yīn wèi 因为 jiā rén 家人 hé 和 péng yǒu 朋友 hái 还 zài 在 jiā xiāng 家乡 ， bì yè 毕业 hòu 后 huì 会 kǎo lǜ 考虑 huí guó 回国 ， dàn 但 yě 也 yǒu rén 有人 jué de 觉得 guó wài 国外 de 的 gōng zuò 工作 jī huì 机会 gèng 更 duō 多 。
Some people consider returning home after graduation because their family and friends are still in their hometown, but others feel there are more job opportunities abroad.
hěn 很 duō 多 nián qīng rén 年轻人 lí kāi 离开 ， shì 是 yīn wèi 因为 jiā xiāng 家乡 de 的 jīng jì 经济 bù hǎo 不好 ， gōng zuò 工作 jī huì 机会 shǎo 少 ， gōng zī 工资 bù 不 gāo 高 。
Many young people leave because the economy in their hometown is poor, there are few job opportunities, and wages are low.
hái yǒu 还有 yī xiē 一些 rén 人 jué de 觉得 guó wài 国外 de 的 shēng huó 生活 gèng 更 fāng biàn 方便 ， bǐ rú 比如 yǒu 有 gèng 更 duō 多 de 的 shù zì huà 数字化 xué xí 学习 gōng jù 工具 。
Some also feel that life abroad is more convenient, such as having more digital learning tools.

Although some countries offer scholarships to students hoping they will return home to work after graduation, many still choose to stay abroad.
zhuān jiā 专家 shuō 说 ， rú guǒ 如果 xiǎng 想 ràng 让 nián qīng rén 年轻人 liú xià 留下 lái 来 ， guó jiā 国家 xū yào 需要 tí gōng 提供 gèng 更 duō 多 de 的 zhī chí 支持 hé 和 gèng 更 hǎo 好 de 的 gōng zuò 工作 jī huì 机会 。
Experts say that if countries want young people to stay, they need to provide more support and better job opportunities.
