Kingston Hosts the 15th Peace Bon Odori Festival to Commemorate Nuclear Disaster Victims
2025 nián 年 8 yuè 月 3 rì 日 ， jīn sī dùn 金斯顿 jiāng 将 zài 在 hǎi tān 海滩 jǔ bàn 举办 dì 第 shí wǔ 十五 jiè 届 hé píng 和平 pén 盆 yǒng 踊 wǔ huì 舞会 。
On August 3, 2025, Kingston will hold the 15th Peace Bon Odori Festival at the beach.
zhè ge 这个 huó dòng 活动 shì 是 miǎn fèi 免费 de 的 ， dà jiā 大家 kě yǐ 可以 yì qǐ 一起 tiào wǔ 跳舞 、 tīng 听 yīn yuè 音乐 ， hái 还 néng 能 jì niàn 纪念 guǎng dǎo 广岛 hé 和 cháng qí 长崎 yuán zǐ dàn 原子弹 bào zhà 爆炸 80 zhōu nián 周年 ， yǐ jí 以及 fú dǎo 福岛 hé 和 qiè ěr nuò bèi lì 切尔诺贝利 hé 核 zāi nàn 灾难 。
This event is free; everyone can dance, listen to music, and also commemorate the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, as well as the nuclear disasters in Fukushima and Chernobyl.
pén yǒng 盆踊 wǔ 舞 shì 是 rì běn 日本 de 的 chuán tǒng 传统 wǔ dǎo 舞蹈 ， rén men 人们 zài 在 xià tiān 夏天 tiào wǔ 跳舞 ， jì niàn 纪念 zǔ xiān 祖先 。
Bon Odori is a traditional Japanese dance where people dance in summer to honor their ancestors.
huó dòng 活动 shàng 上 yǒu 有 rì běn 日本 tài gǔ 太鼓 biǎo yǎn 表演 、 shū fǎ 书法 biǎo yǎn 表演 、 hé qì dào 合气道 biǎo yǎn 表演 ， hái yǒu 还有 yǒu qù 有趣 de 的 xī guā 西瓜 yóu xì 游戏 。
The event features Japanese taiko drum performances, calligraphy demonstrations, Aikido displays, and fun watermelon games.
dà jiā 大家 kě yǐ 可以 cān jiā 参加 gōng zuō fang 工作坊 ， xué xí 学习 huán bǎo 环保 zhī shí 知识 ， liǎo jiě 了解 hé píng 和平 hé 和 bù tóng 不同 wén huà 文化 。
Everyone can join workshops to learn about environmental protection, peace, and different cultures.
wǎn shàng 晚上 huì 会 yǒu 有 fó jiào 佛教 qí fú 祈福 hé 和 hé píng 和平 sàn bù 散步 。
In the evening, there will be Buddhist prayers and a peace walk.

The event hopes everyone will work together to make the world safer, free of nuclear weapons, and use more environmentally friendly energy.
