The "Nanjing Sister Hong" Incident Sparks Discussion on Sexual Repression in China
zuì jìn 最近 ， zhōng guó 中国 yǒu 有 yí gè 一个 jiào 叫 “ nán jīng hóng jiě 南京红姐 ” de 的 xīn wén 新闻 hěn 很 huǒ 火 。
Recently, a news story called "Nanjing Sister Hong" has become very popular in China.
yí gè 一个 38 suì 岁 de 的 nán rén 男人 jiǎ zhuāng 假装 chéng 成 nǚ rén 女人 ， zài 在 wǎng shàng 网上 hé 和 hěn 很 duō 多 nán rén 男人 jiàn miàn 见面 ， bìng 并 tōu tōu 偷偷 yòng 用 shè xiàng tóu 摄像头 lù 录 xià 下 shì pín 视频 ， rán hòu 然后 bǎ 把 zhè xiē 这些 shì pín 视频 mài 卖 gěi 给 bié rén 别人 。
A 38-year-old man pretended to be a woman, met many men online, secretly recorded videos with a camera, and then sold these videos to others.
jǐng chá 警察 fā xiàn 发现 yǒu 有 hěn 很 duō 多 nán rén 男人 shòu hài 受害 ， dàn 但 wǎng shàng 网上 de 的 rén 人 bìng 并 méi yǒu 没有 tóng qíng 同情 tā men 他们 ， fǎn ér 反而 cháo xiào 嘲笑 tā men 他们 。
The police found that many men were victims, but people online did not sympathize with them; instead, they mocked them.

Many people said that sex education in China is very limited, and many can only learn about sex online, which causes a lot of repression and misunderstanding about sex.
yǒu xiē 有些 rén 人 jué de 觉得 nán rén 男人 hěn 很 nán 难 zhǎo dào 找到 nǚ péng yǒu 女朋友 ， suǒ yǐ 所以 tā men 他们 yuàn yì 愿意 dài 带 yī xiē 一些 xiǎo 小 lǐ wù 礼物 qù 去 jiàn 见 “ hóng jiě 红姐 ” 。
Some people think it is hard for men to find girlfriends, so they are willing to bring small gifts when meeting "Sister Hong."
hái yǒu 还有 rén 人 shuō 说 ， zài 在 zhōng guó 中国 ， tán lùn 谈论 xìng 性 de 的 huà tí 话题 cháng cháng 常常 bèi 被 rèn wéi 认为 shì 是 bù hǎo 不好 de 的 ， dà jiā 大家 de 的 qíng gǎn 情感 hé 和 xū yào 需要 bèi 被 yā yì 压抑 le 了 。
Others said that in China, talking about sex is often considered bad, and people's feelings and needs are repressed.

This incident also led to discussions about how privacy on the internet is easily violated; we should protect ourselves and also care for and help the victims.
