The US State Department said that Taiwan President Lai Ching-te currently has no plans for overseas visits, so they will not comment on hypothetical situations.
The US stated that the practice of Taiwan senior officials, including the president, transiting through the US has always been in line with US policy.
The US also said they still adhere to the 'One China' policy and hope for peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait region.
Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs also said that President Lai Ching-te currently has no overseas travel plans and there is no situation where the US has denied his transit.
The spokesperson for Taiwan's Presidential Office also said that because of a typhoon disaster in southern Taiwan and tariff negotiations with the US, President Lai currently has no travel plans.
If there are travel plans in the future, they will inform everyone in a timely manner.
Recently, there have been reports that the President of Paraguay is preparing to receive Lai Ching-te, but Taiwan has not officially announced any visit plans for Lai.
