The G7 leaders said they want a fair and open global trade environment, but they believe some of China's practices make the market unfair, such as producing too many products, which affects other countries' businesses.
To protect their own economies, the G7 decided to reduce dependence on important Chinese products and cooperate with other countries to ensure the supply of raw materials needed for manufacturing and defense.
On security, the G7 stated they hope to have a stable relationship with China but are concerned about some of China's actions in the East China Sea and South China Sea.
They believe maintaining peace in the Taiwan Strait is important and hope China acts responsibly in international affairs without increasing regional tensions.
China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded by saying the G7 should not interfere in China's internal affairs and criticized their accusations against China.
