Well-known AI software in China will stop some chat functions
zuì jìn 最近 ， zhōng guó 中国 de 的 liǎng 两 gè 个 yǒu míng 有名 de 的 rén gōng zhì néng 人工智能 ruǎn jiàn 软件 xuān bù 宣布 ， jiāng 将 tíng zhǐ 停止 ràng 让 yòng hù 用户 zì jǐ 自己 shè jì 设计 AI jué sè 角色 de 的 gōng néng 功能 。
Recently, two well-known artificial intelligence apps in China announced that they will stop the feature that lets users design their own AI characters.
yǐ qián 以前 ， yòng hù 用户 kě yǐ 可以 zài 在 zhè xiē 这些 ruǎn jiàn 软件 lǐ 里 shè jì 设计 tè bié 特别 de 的 AI 。
In the past, users could create special AIs in these apps.
bǐ rú 比如 ， nǐ 你 kě yǐ 可以 gěi 给 AI qǐ 起 míng zì 名字 ， shè dìng 设定 tā 它 de 的 xìng gé 性格 ， ràng 让 tā 它 xiàng 像 péng yǒu 朋友 yī yàng 一样 měi tiān 每天 hé 和 nǐ 你 liáo tiān 聊天 。
For example, you could give the AI a name, set its personality, and let it chat with you every day like a friend.
dàn shì 但是 ， cóng 从 jīn nián 今年 qī yuè 七月 zhōng xún 中旬 kāi shǐ 开始 ， zhè xiē 这些 xiàng 像 rén 人 yī yàng 一样 de 的 liáo tiān 聊天 gōng néng 功能 jiāng 将 bù néng 不能 zài 再 shǐ yòng 使用 le 了 。
But starting in mid-July this year, these human-like chat functions will no longer be available.
zhè ge 这个 biàn huà 变化 hé 和 zhōng guó 中国 de 的 xīn 新 guī dìng 规定 yǒu guān 有关 。
This change is related to China’s new regulations.
qī yuè 七月 shí wǔ rì 十五日 ， zhōng guó 中国 jiāng 将 kāi shǐ 开始 shí xíng 实行 yī xiàng 一项 guān yú 关于 rén gōng zhì néng 人工智能 de 的 xīn 新 guī dìng 规定 。
On July 15, China will begin enforcing a new rule about artificial intelligence.
guī dìng 规定 yāo qiú 要求 ， guǎn lǐ 管理 hǎo 好 nà xiē 那些 néng 能 hé 和 rén 人 jìn xíng 进行 zhǎng 长 shí jiān 时间 gǎn qíng 感情 jiāo liú 交流 de 的 AI fú wù 服务 。
The rule requires proper management of AI services that can have long-term emotional conversations with people.
zhè yàng 这样 zuò 做 shì 是 wèi le 为了 bǎo hù 保护 yòng hù 用户 de 的 xīn lǐ 心理 jiàn kāng 健康 ， fáng zhǐ 防止 rén men 人们 duì 对 AI chǎn shēng 产生 yī lài 依赖 ， yě 也 shì 是 wèi le 为了 gèng 更 hǎo 好 dì 地 bǎo hù 保护 dà jiā 大家 de 的 gè rén xìn xī 个人信息 。
This is to protect users’ mental health, prevent people from becoming dependent on AI, and better protect everyone’s personal information.
bù guò 不过 ， nà xiē 那些 yòng lái 用来 bāng zhù 帮助 gōng zuò 工作 、 xué xí 学习 hé 和 huí dá 回答 wèn tí 问题 de 的 pǔ tōng 普通 AI gōng néng 功能 ， yǐ hòu 以后 hái 还 kě yǐ 可以 jì xù 继续 shǐ yòng 使用 。
However, ordinary AI functions used to help with work, study, and answering questions can still be used in the future.
tīng dào 听到 zhè ge 这个 xiāo xī 消息 ， hěn duō 很多 yòng hù 用户 jué de 觉得 shě bù dé 舍不得 。
After hearing the news, many users felt reluctant to let go.
yǒu rén 有人 shuō 说 ， zhè xiē 这些 AI péi 陪 le 了 tā men 他们 hěn zhǎng 很长 shí jiān 时间 ， jiù 就 xiàng 像 zhēn zhèng 真正 de 的 péng yǒu 朋友 yī yàng 一样 。
Some said these AIs had kept them company for a long time, just like real friends.
