The new Canadian government hopes to strengthen the economy and not rely on just one country anymore.
Prime Minister Karni announced that he will visit China from January 13 to 17, 2026.
He will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, and other leaders to discuss trade, energy, agriculture, and security issues.
This is the first visit by a Canadian Prime Minister to China since 2017.
Afterwards, Prime Minister Karni will go to Switzerland to attend the World Economic Forum, where he will meet leaders and businesspeople from around the world, hoping to bring more investment and job opportunities to Canada.
Canada is now working hard to cooperate with more countries to make its economy more competitive and secure.
