The US Department of Justice recently announced that they have taken action to combat North Korea's practice of earning money through remote IT workers in US companies.
Some North Koreans use fake identities to find jobs in US companies and then send the money they earn back to North Korea.
US law enforcement has seized many computers, financial accounts, and websites.
In this operation, one Chinese-American was arrested, and six Chinese citizens and two Taiwanese citizens were indicted.
The US Department of Justice said these individuals helped North Koreans find remote IT jobs in US companies and earned a lot of money.
These workers could also access some important information of the companies.
US law enforcement also shut down many websites and accounts used for criminal activities.
The Department of Justice reminds that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
