The war has left many small businesses in Ukraine facing problems such as power outages, transportation difficulties, staff shortages, and lack of funds.
To care for their families and earn an income, more and more women are starting their own businesses.
They open online shops to sell clothes, jewelry, and handicrafts. Some also make cakes at home, open coffee shops, or offer nail services.
After the number of local customers decreased, some online shops began selling their products abroad.
Although small businesses are small, they can adapt easily: they can move to another city, reduce their scale, or change their products and services.
The role of a small shop is not only to make money.
People can meet and chat there, and regain a small sense of normal life.
However, keeping going is not easy.
Many women work while caring for children and elderly people, and some have partners who are serving in the military.
They grow vegetables, exchange goods, rely on relatives and friends, and maintain their lives with several sources of income.
These small daily actions help families and communities continue to function during difficult times.
