Russian billionaire Andrey Melnichenko gave an interview lasting nearly 60 hours and discussed Russia’s future.
He believes that, for the West, an independent, stable, and predictable Russia would be better than a Russia controlled by the West or China, divided as a country, or isolated from the outside world like North Korea.
He said that the West’s prolonged confrontation with Russia through Ukraine could make the war continue indefinitely and even spiral out of control, so all sides should make greater use of diplomacy to resolve the issues.
Russia sees this conflict as a struggle to protect its national independence and also hopes to play an important role in European security in the future.
Melnichenko also believes that large companies can help the government and society cooperate.
His words may not make Western countries feel comfortable, but a predictable Russia may be safer than a Russia whose future is unclear.
