In October 2026, the Global Governance Forum was held in Xiongan New Area, Hebei.
Nearly 400 representatives from more than 90 countries and international organizations attended the meeting.
In his letter, Xi Jinping said that countries should consult together, act together, and share the results together, while jointly addressing issues such as peace, security, development, and technology.
Wang Yi introduced eight cooperation initiatives, including promoting Asia-Pacific economic cooperation, reforming the United Nations, protecting the oceans, promoting human rights, using outer space peacefully, helping developing countries learn about and use artificial intelligence, and establishing a global governance research center.
The forum also released Global Governance: The Xiongan Vision.
China hopes to improve existing international institutions rather than establish a new system, and to give African countries and other developing countries a greater voice.
The message the forum sent to the world was this: Global problems cannot be solved by one country alone. Countries need to turn shared ideas into practical action through dialogue, respect, and long-term cooperation, and build a fairer and more open system of global governance.
