zài在tài miǎn biān jìng泰缅边境chóng jiàn重建shēng huó生活:Thapyayde的yǒng qì勇气yǔ与xīn新kāi shǐ开始
Many Myanmar people are slowly rebuilding their lives on the Thai-Myanmar border.
After the military coup in Myanmar in 2021, many people left their homes to find safety elsewhere.
Thapyay is one of them.
Before the coup, she taught at a university in central Myanmar for more than twenty years.
Later, because she participated in the civil disobedience movement against the military government, she and her family had to leave Myanmar at the end of 2022 and come to Mae Sot, Thailand.
Starting a new life was not easy, but she did not give up.
She joined a learning program that helps exiled women, where she learned career development and computer skills, and received support from teachers and peers.
Now, she has become a content writer and can work safely from home.
She said the most important thing is not just learning new skills, but also regaining confidence in herself.
She also encourages other women living on the border: although life is hard now, do not give up and protect your mental strength.
The environment may limit you, but no one can limit your talent and effort.
