Amnesty International says Pakistan is monitoring many citizens using telephone tapping systems and Chinese-made internet firewalls.
This firewall can block certain websites and social media, preventing people from freely accessing the internet.
The report mentions that Pakistan's intelligence agencies can simultaneously listen to many mobile phone calls and text messages, and also collect people's internet browsing records.
The internet firewall can also slow down or block access to some websites, such as YouTube and Facebook.
Amnesty International believes such monitoring makes people afraid to freely express their thoughts and affects freedom of speech.
In recent years, political and media freedom in Pakistan has decreased, and many government opponents have been arrested.
The report also states that Pakistan uses technology from China and the West to strengthen surveillance.
Currently, Pakistan has blocked many web pages and social platforms.
Amnesty International hopes the Pakistani government will protect citizens' freedom and privacy.
