Why Are There So Many Protests in Indonesia?
zuì jìn最近 ，yìn ní印尼hěn很duō多chéng shì城市yǒu有dà guī mó大规模kàng yì抗议 。
Recently, there have been large-scale protests in many cities in Indonesia.
rén men人们bù mǎn不满zhèng fǔ guān yuán政府官员ná dào拿到hěn很hǎo好de的zhù fáng住房bǔ tiē补贴 ，yě也jué de觉得shuì shōu税收tài太gāo高 ，shēng huó生活biàn dé变得hěn很nán难 。
People are unhappy that government officials receive very good housing subsidies, and they also feel that taxes are too high, making life difficult.
hěn很duō多nián qīng rén年轻人hé和pǔ tōng普通shì mín市民zǒu走shàng上jiē tóu街头 ，tā men他们xī wàng希望zhèng fǔ政府néng能tīng dào听到tā men他们de的shēng yīn声音 。
Many young people and ordinary citizens have taken to the streets, hoping the government will hear their voices.

After the protests began, the police used strong force against the crowds, and there was an incident where a delivery worker was beaten to death by the police, which made more people angry.
