The Story of My Mom and Me Going to Colombia

When I was twelve, my mom took me from Venezuela to Colombia.
wǒ men我们lí kāi离开jiā家，shì是yīn wèi因为wěi nèi ruì lā委内瑞拉de的shēng huó生活hěn很kùn nán困难，gōng zuò工作hé和shí wù食物dōu都hěn很shǎo少。
We left home because life in Venezuela was very hard, with little work and food.
gāng刚dào到gē lún bǐ yà哥伦比亚shí时，wǒ men我们bù不rèn shí认识nà lǐ那里de的qián钱，bèi被rén人duō多shōu收le了chē fèi车费。
When we first arrived in Colombia, we didn't know the money there and were overcharged for the bus fare.
mā mā妈妈zài在jiē shàng街上mài卖dōng xī东西，dàn但tā她shēn tǐ身体bù hǎo不好，gōng zuò工作hěn很xīn kǔ辛苦。
Mom sold things on the street, but she was not healthy and the work was very hard.
hòu lái后来mā mā妈妈shēng bìng生病le了，wǒ men我们méi yǒu没有qián钱kàn bìng看病，hǎo好zài在yī yuàn医院zuì hòu最后bāng帮le了wǒ men我们。
Later, mom got sick, and we had no money for medical care, but luckily the hospital helped us in the end.
zài在gē lún bǐ yà哥伦比亚，yǒu xiē有些rén人duì对wǒ men我们bù不yǒu hǎo友好，yě也yǒu rén有人hěn很rè xīn热心，gěi给wǒ men我们bāng zhù帮助。
In Colombia, some people were unfriendly to us, but others were very kind and helped us.
suī rán虽然shēng huó生活hěn很nán难，dàn但wǒ我xué huì学会le了，bù tóng不同guó jiā国家de的rén人dōu都kě yǐ可以hù xiāng互相bāng zhù帮助。
Although life was difficult, I learned that people from different countries can help each other.
wǒ men我们zuì hòu最后hái shì还是huí dào回到le了wěi nèi ruì lā委内瑞拉。
In the end, we returned to Venezuela.
