From “Deceiver” to Digital Giant
zhé xué 哲学 bù 不 zhǐ 只 yòng lái 用来 xún zhǎo 寻找 dá àn 答案 ， yě 也 huì 会 ràng 让 rén 人 huái yí 怀疑 xí yǐ wéi cháng 习以为常 de 的 shì jiè 世界 。
Philosophy is not only used to find answers; it can also make people question the world they have grown used to.
yī wèi 一位 zhé xué jiā 哲学家 céng 曾 zuò 做 guò 过 zhè yàng 这样 de 的 xiǎng xiàng 想象 ： rú guǒ 如果 yǒu 有 yí gè 一个 qiáng dà 强大 de 的 qī piàn 欺骗 zhě 者 ， néng 能 kòng zhì 控制 wǒ men 我们 de 的 gǎn jué 感觉 hé 和 xiǎng fǎ 想法 ， wǒ men 我们 hái 还 néng 能 xiāng xìn 相信 shén me 什么 ？
A philosopher once imagined this: if there were a powerful deceiver who could control our senses and thoughts, what could we still believe?
tā 他 rèn wéi 认为 ， jí shǐ 即使 yī qiè 一切 dōu 都 kě néng 可能 shì 是 jiǎ de 假的 ， zhèng zài 正在 huái yí 怀疑 de 的 “ wǒ 我 ” zhì shǎo 至少 zhēn shí 真实 cún zài 存在 。
He believed that even if everything might be false, the “I” that is doubting must at least truly exist.
zhè ge 这个 wèn tí 问题 hòu lái 后来 biàn dé 变得 yuè lái yuè 越来越 zhòng yào 重要 ： rú guǒ 如果 wǒ men 我们 zhǐ néng 只能 tōng guò 通过 xìn xī 信息 rèn shí 认识 shì jiè 世界 ， xìn xī 信息 jiù 就 kě néng 可能 bèi 被 xuǎn zé 选择 、 gǎi biàn 改变 hé 和 kòng zhì 控制 。
This question later became increasingly important: if we can know the world only through information, then information can be selected, changed, and controlled.
rú jīn 如今 ， shù zì 数字 píng tái 平台 huì 会 jì lù 记录 wǒ men 我们 de 的 xíng wéi 行为 ， cāi cè 猜测 wǒ men 我们 de 的 xǐ hào 喜好 ， zài 再 jué dìng 决定 xiàng 向 wǒ men 我们 tuī jiàn 推荐 shén me 什么 。
Today, digital platforms record our behavior, guess what we like, and then decide what to recommend to us.

They do not only affect what we believe; they may also gradually affect what we want.
dāng 当 měi gè rén 每个人 zhǐ 只 kàn dào 看到 fú hé 符合 zì jǐ 自己 xìng qù 兴趣 de 的 nèi róng 内容 ， jiù 就 gèng 更 nán 难 yù jiàn 遇见 bù tóng 不同 de 的 rén 人 、 xīn 新 de 的 xiǎng fǎ 想法 hé 和 yì wài 意外 de 的 kě néng 可能 。
When everyone sees only content that matches their own interests, it becomes harder to encounter different people, new ideas, and unexpected possibilities.
zhēn zhèng 真正 de 的 wēi xiǎn 危险 bù 不 zhǐ shì 只是 shòu piàn 受骗 ， ér shì 而是 wǒ men 我们 kāi shǐ 开始 jué de 觉得 xiàn yǒu 现有 shì jiè 世界 wú fǎ 无法 gǎi biàn 改变 。
The real danger is not only being deceived, but also beginning to feel that the existing world cannot be changed.
zhé xué 哲学 de 的 zuò yòng 作用 ， zhèng shì 正是 dǎ pò 打破 zhè zhǒng 这种 lěng mò 冷漠 ， tí xǐng 提醒 wǒ men 我们 ： yǎn qián 眼前 de 的 shēng huó fāng shì 生活方式 bìng fēi 并非 wéi yī 唯一 xuǎn zé 选择 ， rén men 人们 réng 仍 néng 能 xiǎng xiàng 想象 bìng 并 chuàng zào 创造 gèng 更 píng děng 平等 、 gèng 更 kāi fàng 开放 de 的 gòng tóng 共同 shēng huó 生活 。
The role of philosophy is precisely to break this indifference and remind us that the way we live now is not the only choice; people can still imagine and create a more equal and open shared life.
