In September 2025, many young people in Nepal took to the streets to protest against corruption and the social media ban.

The government banned many popular social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube because some social media companies did not register according to the new regulations.

Many young people and small business owners felt that such a ban made it very difficult for them to communicate and do business.

People used the term "Nepo Kid" to criticize wealthy and powerful families living well while ordinary people have a hard life.

Many hope the government can be more transparent and fair, and also hope for more freedom.

Although some people were injured or even died during the protests, young people still hope to change the country so that everyone's voice can be heard.

In the end, the government lifted the social media ban.
