Some people doubt whether humans really landed on the moon because they think humans only went there once.
In fact, humans have landed on the moon many times.
This example shows that “doubt” and “asking questions” are not the same thing.
Doubt often stops at “I don’t believe it,” but asking questions continues: “How can I find out?”
Truth requires investigation and verification, and it is often more complicated. A made-up story, however, may be simple, appealing, and easier for people to accept.
In everyday life, facts, opinions, advertisements, and rumors are often mixed together.
Someone speaking very confidently or a picture looking very real cannot prove that something is true.
jiù xiàng 就像 hái zi 孩子 fā shēng 发生 zhēng chǎo 争吵 shí 时 , fù mǔ 父母 bù néng 不能 zhǐ 只 tīng 听 yī fāng 一方 de 的 huà 话 , ér 而 yào 要 wèn 问 shì qíng 事情 zěn yàng 怎样 kāi shǐ 开始 、 shuí 谁 zài chǎng 在场 、 shuāng fāng 双方 zuò 做 le 了 shén me 什么 。
Just as when children have an argument, parents cannot listen to only one side. They need to ask how it began, who was there, and what both sides did.
miàn duì 面对 xìn xī 信息 , wǒ men 我们 yě 也 yīng 应 wèn 问 : tā 它 cóng 从 nǎ lǐ 哪里 lái 来 ?
When we face information, we should also ask: Where does it come from?
yǒu 有 shén me 什么 zhèng jù 证据 ?
Can we find other sources to check?
At the same time, we should ask ourselves: Do I believe it because of the evidence, or because it happens to fit my own ideas?
When new evidence appears, being willing to correct ourselves is not failure; it is an important step in seeking the truth.
zhēn xiàng 真相 bú huì 不会 zì dòng 自动 lái dào 来到 wǒ men 我们 miàn qián 面前 , tā 它 xū yào 需要 shí jiān 时间 、 zhù yì lì 注意力 hé 和 jì xù 继续 tí wèn 提问 de 的 yǒng qì 勇气 。
Truth will not come to us automatically. It requires time, attention, and the courage to keep asking questions.
