On January 5th, the United Nations Security Council held an emergency meeting on the situation in Venezuela.

The Chinese representative spoke at the meeting, strongly opposing and condemning the US actions against Venezuela.

The Chinese representative stated that the international community has been very concerned about the situation in Venezuela for some time.

Many countries and organizations hope that all parties will abide by international law, remain calm, resolve issues peacefully, and protect regional stability.

However, the Chinese representative pointed out that the US, as a permanent member of the Security Council, did not listen to the opinions of the international community.

The sanctions and military actions taken by the US against Venezuela have seriously affected Venezuela's sovereignty and security.

China believes that such actions violate the principle of non-interference in internal affairs and threaten peace in Latin America and even the world.

China publicly demanded at the meeting that the US stop violating other countries' sovereignty and hopes to resolve political issues through dialogue and negotiation.

At the same time, China also called on the US to ensure the safety of Venezuelan President Maduro and his family and to release them.

The Chinese representative emphasized at the end that history has shown that military means and force cannot truly solve problems and may instead bring greater crises.

Venezuela is an independent country with the right to choose its own development path.

China will continue to support the Venezuelan government and people in protecting their country and hopes that the Latin American region can maintain peace and stability.
