zài在tái wān台湾,ā měi zú阿美族de的Omah Canglahshuō说:“yuán zhù mín zú原住民族de的yǔ yán语言yě也kě yǐ可以hěn很xiàn dài现代!”
Omah Canglah is an Amis person from Hualien, Taiwan.
He is currently a product manager at a company, developing learning apps for the Amis language and Taiwanese.
He is also a director of the Amis Language Association and has been for nine years.
Omah is very concerned about the future of the Amis language.
He found that most fluent Amis speakers are over fifty years old, and few young people can speak it.
Many young people think the Amis language is an "old people's language," not practical or modern.
Omah hopes to use technology and the internet to get more young people interested in learning the Amis language.
He and his team have organized many activities, such as online gatherings, literature competitions, and summer camps.
They also developed a learning app so everyone can practice speaking Amis on their phones.
Omah believes that if more Amis is used on social media, with fun short videos and challenges, young people will find the Amis language cool and modern.
He believes that as long as everyone uses their own language more, the Amis language will not disappear.
