An international human rights organization recently released a report saying that some well-known companies, such as Walmart, Nescafe, and Coca-Cola, may be connected to forced labor in Xinjiang through China's supply chains.
These companies purchased minerals from Xinjiang, such as titanium, lithium, beryllium, and magnesium.
The report states that in Xinjiang, some factories employ ethnic minorities who may not be working voluntarily.
The Chinese government says these claims are not true and that they do not force anyone to work.
The report also recommends that governments and companies better inspect the products they buy to ensure no forced labor is involved.
Currently, many countries are very concerned about supply chain issues and hope to buy products that are fair and safe.
