zhì致rén lèi人类tóng bàn同伴hé和péng yǒu朋友:nǐ men你们de的xíng dòng行动kāi qǐ开启xīn新de的wèi lái未来
When I was ill, many people in Montreal and around the world helped me.
They did not know me, yet they understood my suffering.
It was the care of these people that saved my life.
Thank you. You are my heroes.
When people interact with one another, they often think only of themselves and fail to see others’ freedom and suffering.
Some people even hurt their friends for their own benefit, saying, “Everyone does it.”
But some people are willing to help strangers without asking for anything in return.
This kind of care gives life direction and makes the world warmer.
An ancient rule of life says: Treat others as you would like them to treat you.
The principle of freedom also tells us that hurting others causes us to lose our own freedom; if we do not hurt anyone, we can freely choose what we want to do.
Our actions will not only change the world; they will also change us.
Friends, let us care for and help others, and use our actions to reduce separation and harm between people, opening together a new future that is freer and more humane.
