The US Treasury recently said that the value of the renminbi is too low and hopes China will let the renminbi appreciate.
The US believes that China's foreign exchange policy is not transparent enough, and the price of the renminbi does not match China's trade surplus.
The US Treasury also said they will continue to monitor China's foreign exchange policy.
If China uses some methods to prevent the renminbi from appreciating, the US may take new measures.
Besides China, ten other economies including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam, Germany, Ireland, Switzerland, and Thailand have been placed on the US watch list.
The foreign exchange policies of these countries will also be carefully examined by the US.
The US hopes these countries' monetary policies will be fairer and more transparent.
