Pastor Jin Mingri of Beijing Zion Church was released on July 4 and safely arrived in the United States, where he reunited with his family.
His family was very happy and also thanked the many people who helped them.
However, eight church co-workers are still being held, and their families hope the Chinese government will release them immediately.
Some U.S. members of Congress and international human rights groups have also said that people detained for their faith should be released.
The families said these eight people and Jin Mingri are part of the same case, so there is no reason for only him to be released.
The family is also very worried about their physical condition in the detention center, because some have lost weight and some are feeling unwell.
Zion Church is a well-known house church in China, and this case has drawn a lot of attention.
Now, people outside the case continue to call for the eight still in custody to be able to go home soon, reunite with their families, and live out their faith freely.
