The report says that Shein does not have its own clothing factories and mainly hires many suppliers to produce clothes.
To complete new orders quickly, some work is given to smaller, informal workshops.
Some workers work twelve to fourteen hours a day, sometimes without a day off for more than twenty days in a row.
They are often paid by the piece, so their income is unstable. Some also do not have formal contracts or social insurance.
Sewing clothes for long periods may also cause finger pain.
Warehouse workers also said that their working hours are very long.
The labor organization recommended that Shein inspect all suppliers, ensure reasonable wages, working hours, and rest days, and allow workers to raise concerns safely.
Shein disagreed with the report's statements about its relationships with suppliers and wage conditions.
The company said that suppliers must comply with the law, that it conducts many inspections every year, and that it stops working with suppliers when serious problems are found.
Shein also said that its survey showed that most workers earn more than the local minimum wage and are fairly satisfied with their jobs.
Both sides said they were willing to continue communicating.
