TSMC discovered that some employees accessed documents they were not supposed to see while working, and after investigation, it was found that they might have taken important technical secrets.
The company immediately reported the matter to the police.
After investigation, the prosecutors took the three suspects for further questioning.
TSMC stated that the company has a strict monitoring system to detect problems promptly.
The company will severely punish anyone who steals company secrets and will cooperate with the police investigation.
TSMC also said it will continue to strengthen management to protect the company's technology and the interests of its employees.
The Taiwanese government also stated that if someone steals important national technology, they can be sentenced to up to 12 years in prison and fined heavily.
