Rahman, 31, is from Bangladesh.
Someone told him about a cleaning job in Russia and said the pay was very high.
He borrowed 1.2 million Bangladeshi taka and gave it to the person who arranged the job, hoping to give his family a better life.
However, after arriving in Russia, he and three other workers were asked to sign documents in Russian that they could not understand.
A few weeks later, he was sent to a place where Russia was fighting Ukraine.
He said that people who refused to fight were beaten and threatened with ten years in prison.
Russia was short of soldiers, so it looked for people abroad.
Some foreigners applied because of the high pay, without knowing what they would really have to do; others had only wanted an ordinary job.
Bangladesh and Russia have not yet formally signed an agreement to protect these workers, so it is difficult for workers who have been deceived to get help.
Rahman eventually returned home, but he has not yet paid off the money he borrowed.
Others died on the battlefield, and their families never even received their remains.
These families hope the government will rescue those who are still alive and ensure that the fraudulent recruiters are punished by law.
