The Story of a Chinese Korean Ethnic Woman
lǐ nǚ shì李女士shì是zhōng guó中国dōng běi东北yán biān延边de的cháo xiǎn zú朝鲜族rén人 。
Ms. Li is a Korean ethnic person from Yanbian, Northeast China.
tā她xiǎo shí hòu小时候jiā lǐ家里hěn很qióng穷 ，yǒu有bā八gè个hái zi孩子 。
Her family was very poor when she was a child, and there were eight children.
tā她hěn很xiǎo小jiù yào就要zhào gù照顾dì di弟弟mèi mèi妹妹 ，bù néng不能xiàng像bié de别的hái zi孩子yī yàng一样wán shuǎ玩耍 。
She had to take care of her younger brothers and sisters from a very young age and couldn't play like other children.
hòu lái后来 ，tā她shàng xué上学bǐ比bié rén别人wǎn晚 ，hái还yīn wèi因为dōng tiān冬天tài太lěng冷shēng bìng生病 ，dān wù耽误le了xué xí学习 。
Later, she started school later than others and missed studying because she got sick from the cold winter.
suī rán虽然zhè yàng这样 ，tā她xué xí学习hěn很nǔ lì努力 ，chéng jì成绩hěn很hǎo好 。
Despite this, she studied very hard and had excellent grades.
1966nián年 ，tā她bèi被xuǎn选wèi为yōu xiù优秀xué shēng学生qù去běi jīng北京jiàn dào见到le了máo zhǔ xí毛主席 。
In 1966, she was selected as an outstanding student and went to Beijing to meet Chairman Mao.
kě shì可是 ，wén huà dà gé mìng文化大革命kāi shǐ开始hòu后 ，xué xiào学校dōu都guān关le了 ，tā她zhǐ néng只能qù去nóng chǎng农场gōng zuò工作 。
However, after the Cultural Revolution began, all schools were closed, and she could only work on a farm.
hòu lái后来 ，tā她jié hūn结婚le了 ，shēng huó生活hěn很xīn kǔ辛苦 ，yào要yí gè一个rén人zhào gù照顾jiā rén家人hé和hái zi孩子 。
Later, she got married and life was very hard; she had to take care of her family and children alone.
wén huà dà gé mìng文化大革命jié shù结束hòu后 ，guó jiā国家yòu又kāi shǐ开始zhòng shì jiào yù重视教育 ，dàn但tā她yǐ jīng已经méi yǒu没有jī huì机会jì xù继续shàng xué上学le了 。
After the Cultural Revolution ended, the country began to value education again, but she no longer had the chance to continue her studies.
suī rán虽然zì jǐ自己méi没néng能shàng上dà xué大学 ，tā她de的liǎng两gè个nǚ ér女儿dōu都kǎo shàng考上le了hǎo好dà xué大学 ，hái还chéng成le了lǎo shī老师 。
Although she couldn't attend university herself, her two daughters were admitted to good universities and became teachers.
tā她xī wàng希望sūn nǚ孙女men们néng能zì yóu自由dì地zhuī qiú追求zì jǐ自己de的mèng xiǎng梦想 。
She hopes her granddaughters can freely pursue their dreams.
lǐ nǚ shì李女士de的gù shì故事gào sù告诉wǒ men我们 ，hěn很duō多nǚ xìng女性yīn wèi因为jiā tíng家庭 、mín zú民族hé和shè huì社会de的yuán yīn原因 ，shī qù失去le了xué xí学习de的jī huì机会 ，dàn但tā men她们yī rán依然jiān qiáng坚强dì地shēng huó生活xià qù下去 。
Ms. Li's story tells us that many women lost the opportunity to study because of family, ethnicity, and social reasons, but they still live strongly.
