Mr. Zhao, a man from Hong Kong, has faced many troubles because of his Porsche license plate "US8964."
This number is related to the Tiananmen Square incident on June 4, 1989, in China, which is a very sensitive topic.
Over the past year, Mr. Zhao and his family have received many anonymous letters; some people threatened to report them, sent letters to his neighbors and family, and even his daughter was complained about at school.
Mr. Zhao said that at first, he just thought the number was important and wanted to commemorate that day in his own way, not expecting it to cause so many problems.
Every year on June 4, he would drive around Victoria Park, but the police detained his car multiple times for various reasons.
Later, Mr. Zhao decided to ship his car out of Hong Kong and moved to the UK with his daughter.
Now, the government has also taken back this license plate.
Many people in Hong Kong felt very sad after seeing this news and found it strange that the government is so afraid of just a license plate.
