Data show that by 2025, the nationwide Putonghua proficiency rate in China had reached 87.72%.

This year is also the first year that the newly revised language and writing law has been implemented.
During Promotion Week, many schools hold reading-aloud and Chinese character writing competitions. Some places also specifically teach young people in rural areas to speak Putonghua, helping them find jobs more easily.
