Why Are Protests Increasing in Iran?
zuì jìn最近 ，yī lǎng伊朗de的hěn很duō多chéng shì城市fā shēng发生le了kàng yì抗议huó dòng活动 。
Recently, many cities in Iran have seen protests.
zuì最kāi shǐ开始 ，dé hēi lán德黑兰de的dà bā zhā大巴扎yīn wèi因为huò bì biǎn zhí货币贬值 ，shāng rén商人men们guān关le了diàn店 ，biǎo shì表示bù mǎn不满 。
At first, merchants in Tehran's Grand Bazaar closed their shops to show dissatisfaction due to currency devaluation.
hòu lái后来 ，kàng yì抗议huó dòng活动hěn很kuài快chuán传dào到le了qí tā其他chéng shì城市 。
Later, the protests quickly spread to other cities.
yǒu xiē有些dì fāng地方hái还fā shēng发生le了chōng tū冲突 ，yǒu rén有人shòu shāng受伤shèn zhì甚至sǐ wáng死亡 。
In some places, conflicts occurred, with some people injured or even killed.
yī lǎng伊朗de的qián钱biàn dé变得yuè lái yuè越来越bù zhí qián不值钱 ，hěn很duō多rén人mǎi bù qǐ买不起shēng huó生活yòng pǐn用品 。
Iran's money is becoming less and less valuable, and many people cannot afford daily necessities.
shāng rén商人men们shuō说 ，měi yuán美元de的jià gé价格yì zhí一直zài在biàn变 ，tā men他们hěn很nán难zuò shēng yì做生意 。
Merchants say the price of the US dollar keeps changing, making it hard for them to do business.
zhèng fǔ政府shuō说tiān qì天气lěng冷 ，guān关le了yī xiē一些gōng gòng chǎng suǒ公共场所 ，hái还dā yìng答应gěi给shāng rén商人jiǎn shuì减税hé和pián yi便宜de的wài bì外币 。
The government said it was cold and closed some public places, and promised to reduce taxes for merchants and provide cheap foreign currency.
kě shì可是 ，hěn很duō多rén人jué de觉得zhè xiē这些bàn fǎ办法bù gòu不够hǎo好 。
However, many people feel these measures are not good enough.
zhuān jiā专家shuō说 ，zhǐ yào只要jīng jì经济wèn tí问题méi yǒu没有jiě jué解决 ，kàng yì抗议huó dòng活动kě néng可能hái还huì会jì xù继续 。
Experts say that as long as economic problems are not solved, protests may continue.
xiàn zài现在 ，hěn很duō多rén人bù不zhǐ shì只是wèi le为了zì yóu自由kàng yì抗议 ，yě也shì是yīn wèi因为shēng huó生活tài太kùn nán困难le了 。
Now, many people are protesting not only for freedom but also because life is too difficult.
