The Current Situation of Mauritanian Fishermen
máo lǐ tǎ ní yà毛里塔尼亚shì是xī fēi西非de的yí gè一个guó jiā国家 ，kào jìn靠近dà xī yáng大西洋 。
Mauritania is a country in West Africa, near the Atlantic Ocean.
zhè lǐ这里de的yú yè渔业hěn很yǒu míng有名 ，hěn很duō多rén人kào靠bǔ yú捕鱼shēng huó生活 。
The fishing industry here is very famous, and many people make a living by fishing.
shí wǔ十五nián qián年前 ，máo lǐ tǎ ní yà毛里塔尼亚hé和zhōng guó中国qiān签le了yí gè一个xié yì协议 ，zhōng guó中国gōng sī公司kě yǐ可以zài在zhè lǐ这里bǔ yú捕鱼 ，hái还tóu zī投资jiàn建le了yú鱼jiā gōng chǎng加工厂 。
Fifteen years ago, Mauritania signed an agreement with China, allowing Chinese companies to fish here and also invested in building fish processing factories.
xiàn zài现在 ，dà bù fèn大部分gōng yè工业bǔ yú捕鱼chuán船dōu都shì是zhōng guó中国de的 。
Now, most industrial fishing boats are Chinese.
yīn wèi因为wài guó外国dà大chuán船bǔ yú捕鱼tài太duō多 ，hǎi lǐ海里de的yú鱼yuè lái yuè越来越shǎo少 ，hěn很duō多běn dì本地yú mín渔民hěn很nán难zhuā抓dào到yú鱼 ，shōu rù收入yě也jiǎn shǎo减少le了 。
Because foreign large fishing boats catch too many fish, the number of fish in the sea is decreasing, making it difficult for many local fishermen to catch fish, and their income has also decreased.
yǒu xiē有些yú mín渔民shuō说 ，tā men他们chū hǎi出海jǐ tiān几天yě也zhuā抓bú dào不到yú鱼 ，xiàng像zhāng yú章鱼hé和huáng zī yú黄鲻鱼dōu都hěn很shǎo jiàn少见le了 。
Some fishermen say that they go out to sea for several days but cannot catch fish; octopuses and yellow mullets have become very rare.
yǐ qián以前 ，yú mín渔民yòng用jiǎn dān简单de的chuán船hé和wǎng网jiù就néng能zhuā抓dào到hěn很duō多yú鱼 ，xiàn zài现在tā men他们bù dé bù不得不qù去gèng更yuǎn远de的hǎi lǐ海里 ，huā花gèng更duō多de的qián钱mǎi买yóu油 ，dàn但shōu huò收获hái shì还是hěn很shǎo少 。
In the past, fishermen could catch a lot of fish with simple boats and nets, but now they have to go farther into the sea, spend more money on fuel, yet still catch very little.
hěn很duō多yú鱼bèi被yùn运dào到guó wài国外jiā gōng加工 ，liú gěi留给běn dì rén本地人de的yú鱼biàn变shǎo少le了 。
Many fish are sent abroad for processing, leaving fewer fish for the local people.

Some fishermen have to go to the cities to find work or work abroad.
