How India Helps People with Hearing Impairments

Life is not easy for people with hearing impairments in India.

They are often ignored by society, and many people have prejudices against them.
yǐ qián以前 ，yìn dù印度de的xué xiào学校zhǔ yào主要yòng用kǒu yǔ口语jiào xué教学 ，bù yòng不用shǒu yǔ手语 ，zhè这ràng让hěn很duō多tīng zhàng听障xué shēng学生hěn很nán难xué xí学习 ，hěn很duō多rén人bù dé bù不得不chuò xué辍学 。
In the past, schools in India mainly used spoken language teaching and did not use sign language, which made it difficult for many hearing-impaired students to learn, and many had to drop out.
xiàn zài现在 ，yìn dù印度zhèng fǔ政府kāi shǐ开始zhòng shì重视tīng zhàng听障rén shì人士de的jiào yù教育 ，zhì dìng制定le了yī xiē一些xīn新zhèng cè政策 ，bǐ rú比如ràng让tīng zhàng听障ér tóng儿童kě yǐ可以miǎn fèi免费shàng xué上学 ，zhī chí支持shǒu yǔ手语de的xué xí学习hé和shǐ yòng使用 ，hái还zhì zuò制作le了shǒu yǔ手语cí diǎn词典 。
Now, the Indian government has started to pay attention to the education of people with hearing impairments and has made some new policies, such as allowing hearing-impaired children to attend school for free, supporting the learning and use of sign language, and creating a sign language dictionary.

The government also hopes to have more TV programs with subtitles or sign language interpretation.
