On the evening of November 24, Chinese President Xi Jinping had a phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump.

This was a follow-up communication after the two leaders met last month in Busan, South Korea.

Xi Jinping said that the Busan meeting made China-U.S. relations more stable and sent a positive signal to the world.

He said the two countries should continue to maintain the current momentum, cooperate more, confront less, and handle issues with equality and mutual respect so that the people of both countries can gain more benefits.

During the call, Xi reiterated China's position on the Taiwan issue, emphasizing that Taiwan's return to China is an important part of the post-World War II international order.

He said that China and the U.S. historically opposed fascism together and should now jointly maintain peace.

According to the Chinese side, Trump affirmed the Busan meeting during the call and expressed willingness to advance the consensus reached by both sides.

The Chinese side also stated that the U.S. "understands the importance of the Taiwan issue to China."

The two leaders also discussed the situation in Ukraine.

Xi said China supports all efforts that help peace and hopes all parties involved can quickly narrow their differences and find a fair and lasting solution.

After the call, Trump wrote on social media that they talked about agriculture, drug control, and Ukraine, and described the communication as "very good."

He also revealed that Xi invited him to visit Beijing in April next year, and he invited Xi to visit the U.S. within the year.

This call continued the communication rhythm after the Busan meeting, showing the outside world that both China and the U.S. hope to maintain dialogue and promote the relationship toward stability.
