New York's "Tax the Rich" Campaign
zài 在 niǔ yuē 纽约 ， yǒu 有 hěn 很 duō 多 rén 人 cān jiā 参加 le 了 yí gè 一个 jiào 叫 “ xiàng fù rén zhēng shuì 向富人征税 ” de 的 huó dòng 活动 。
In New York, many people participated in an event called "Tax the Rich."
dà jiā 大家 zài 在 yáng guāng míng mèi 阳光明媚 de 的 lián hé guǎng chǎng 联合广场 shàng 上 jù zài yì qǐ 聚在一起 ， xī wàng 希望 ràng 让 fù rén 富人 duō 多 jiāo 交 shuì 税 ， yòng 用 zhè xiē 这些 qián 钱 bāng zhù 帮助 hái zi men 孩子们 shàng xué 上学 hé 和 shēng huó 生活 。
Everyone gathered in the sunny Union Square, hoping to make the rich pay more taxes and use that money to help children go to school and live better lives.
huó dòng 活动 shàng 上 yǒu 有 nián qīng rén 年轻人 ， yě 也 yǒu 有 nián zhǎng 年长 de 的 rén 人 ， tā men 他们 dōu 都 hěn 很 yǒu 有 rè qíng 热情 。
There were young people and older people at the event, all very enthusiastic.

Some people held signs that said "Tax the Rich, Fund Child Care," and others wore special clothes to express their ideas.

Everyone thought that many families have to leave New York because life is too expensive, which makes the children very sad.
yǒu rén 有人 shuō 说 ， rú guǒ 如果 fù rén 富人 duō 多 jiāo 交 shuì 税 ， pǔ tōng 普通 jiā tíng 家庭 de 的 shēng huó 生活 huì 会 gèng 更 hǎo 好 ， hái zi men 孩子们 yě 也 néng 能 yǒu 有 gèng 更 hǎo 好 de 的 wèi lái 未来 。
Some said that if the rich paid more taxes, ordinary families would have a better life, and children could have a better future.
dà jiā 大家 xiāng xìn 相信 ， zhǐ yào 只要 dà jiā 大家 tuán jié 团结 qǐ lái 起来 ， jiù 就 néng 能 ràng 让 chéng shì 城市 biàn dé 变得 gèng 更 gōng píng 公平 。
Everyone believed that as long as people unite, the city can become fairer.
huó dòng 活动 jié shù 结束 hòu 后 ， péng yǒu 朋友 men 们 yì qǐ 一起 liáo tiān 聊天 ， fēn xiǎng 分享 zì jǐ 自己 de 的 gù shì 故事 hé 和 xī wàng 希望 。
After the event, friends chatted together, sharing their stories and hopes.
tā men 他们 jué de 觉得 ， zhuī qiú 追求 gèng 更 měi hǎo 美好 de 的 shēng huó 生活 kě yǐ 可以 ràng 让 dà jiā 大家 biàn dé 变得 gèng 更 qīn jìn 亲近 。
They felt that pursuing a better life can bring people closer together.
