The Other Side of Gratitude
wǒ men我们cháng cháng常常bèi被jiào dǎo教导yào要gǎn ēn感恩 ,bǐ rú比如 “yào要zhī zú cháng lè知足常乐 ” 。
We are often taught to be grateful, such as 'contentment brings happiness.'
gǎn ēn感恩kě yǐ可以ràng让wǒ men我们kāi xīn开心 ,yě也néng能ràng让rén人hé和rén人guān xì关系gèng更hǎo好 。
Gratitude can make us happy and improve relationships between people.
dàn shì但是 ,yǒu shí hòu有时候gǎn ēn感恩yě也huì会dài lái带来yā lì压力 。
However, sometimes gratitude can also bring pressure.
rú guǒ如果wǒ men我们bèi被yāo qiú要求yí dìng一定yào要gǎn ēn感恩 ,kě néng可能huì会ràng让wǒ men我们bù不gǎn敢biǎo dá表达zì jǐ自己de的zhēn shí真实gǎn shòu感受 ,bǐ rú比如shēng qì生气huò或bù mǎn不满 。
If we are required to be grateful, it might stop us from expressing our true feelings, like anger or dissatisfaction.
zài在gōng zuò工作zhōng中 ,yǒu xiē有些rén人huì会shuō说 “nǐ你yīng gāi应该gǎn xiè感谢yǒu有gōng zuò工作 ” ,dàn但qí shí其实gōng zuò工作huán jìng环境bù hǎo不好shí时 ,wǒ men我们yě也yǒu有quán lì权利shuō chū说出zì jǐ自己de的xiǎng fǎ想法 。
At work, some people say 'You should be thankful to have a job,' but when the work environment is bad, we also have the right to express our thoughts.
gǎn ēn感恩běn lái本来shì是zì yuàn自愿de的 ,shì是wǒ men我们zhēn xīn真心xiǎng想gǎn xiè感谢bié rén别人shí时cái才yǒu有de的gǎn jué感觉 。
Gratitude is originally voluntary; it is a feeling we have when we sincerely want to thank others.
rú guǒ如果gǎn ēn感恩biàn chéng变成le了yī zhǒng一种bì xū必须zuò做de的shì qíng事情 ,jiù就huì会ràng让rén人jué de觉得bù不zì yóu自由 。
If gratitude becomes something we must do, it can make people feel restricted.
wǒ men我们kě yǐ可以xué huì学会zài在hé shì合适de的shí hòu时候biǎo dá表达gǎn ēn感恩 ,yě也kě yǐ可以zài在xū yào需要de的shí hòu时候biǎo dá表达zì jǐ自己de的bù mǎn不满 。
We can learn to express gratitude at the right time and also express dissatisfaction when needed.
zhè yàng这样 ,wǒ men我们cái néng才能gèng更zhēn shí真实dì地miàn duì面对zì jǐ自己de的gǎn shòu感受 ,zuò做gèng更kuài lè快乐de的zì jǐ自己 。
This way, we can face our feelings more honestly and be happier ourselves.
